About Me

My Name is Scott Jones and I am a DJ/Presenter from Kidderminster in the West Midlands. I originally started out on doing radio commentary for a Kidderminster radio station called the Wyre. 107.2 The Wyre was a local commercial radio station serving Kidderminster, Bewdley, Stourport-on-Severn, Stourbridge and Bromsgrove. The station ran from 12th September 2005 until Monday 26th March 2012 with The Severn and 107.7 The Wolf to form Signal 107, a station also serving the Wolverhampton, Shropshire and north Worcestershire area. I started my Commentary on the Wyre late September 2005.

I spent the next two and half years following Kidderminster Harriers around the country reporting back on every home and away game. Kidderminster Harriers were a conference premier side at the time, also getting to the FA Trophy final in 2007. The 2007 cup final was the first domestic game to be held at the new Wembley stadium, with myself and a team of colleagues from the Wyre providing full match commentary and interviews.

For the 2007/2008 season I joined the PA team at Aggborough stadium where I would take charge of music in the stadium before, half time and full time. During my time there I also took on the duties of managing the scoreboard. The current stadium announcer stepped down from his position in 2011. I was then asked by the club to become their new stadium announcer, as a fan from the age of 6 this was a great honour, I quickly accepted.

My match day duties at the club include reading out notices pre-match and half time, the team line ups, introducing the teams onto the pitch. During the game, I announce the goal scorers and subs. Here are some pictures of myself during half time interviewing ex Harrier players Paul Webb and Aide Smith
